Pope Benedict says that we need a world government.
That is one of the main themes of his brand new encyclical entitled Caritas in Veritate, or Charity in Truth. In it, Pope Benedict publicly calls for a "true world political authority" with "real teeth". At a time when many other prominent world leaders are openly calling for a "New World Order", to have the Roman Pontiff openly state that we need a world government is more than a little alarming, and it is yet another clear sign that we are living in the last days.
The 144 page encyclical is the result of an intensive 2 year effort by Pope Benedict to bring Catholic social teaching up to date on issues such as economic development, terrorism, sex tourism, population issues, bioethics and the environment.
As he called for world government in the encyclical, the Pope chose words that were very direct and to the point:
"There is a strongly felt need... for a reform of the United Nations Organisation, and likewise of economic institutions and international finance, so that the concept of the family of nations can acquire real teeth... there is urgent need of a true world political authority."
"Real teeth"?
What in the world would a global government with "real teeth" look like?
According to Pope Benedict, the job of such a world political authority would be "to manage the global economy; to revive economies hit by the crisis; to avoid any deterioration of the present crisis and the greater imbalances that would result."
So it is not just a one world government that Pope Benedict is advocating.
He is also officially recommending that the one world government would "manage" a one world economic system.
Not only is Pope Benedict promoting a one world economic system, but he is promoting one that would be openly socialist. In the encyclical, Pope Benedict wrote that a one world economic system would "open up the unprecedented possibility of large-scale redistribution of wealth on a world-wide scale".
Has Pope Benedict been reading the writings of Karl Marx?
Since when is it the job of the Pope to advocate the "large-scale redistribution of wealth"?
Apparently that would mean taking wealth away from Americans and Europeans and giving it to others.
When Pope Benedict puts out an encyclical that recommends the adoption of a one world government and a one world economic system, it shows all of us how close to the last days that we really are.
What will Pope Benedict call for next?
A one world religion?
After all, most Bible prophecy scholars agree that three of the main pillars of the Antichrist's system will be a one world government, a one world economic system (the Mark of the Beast, etc.) and a one world religion.
Pope Benedict's declaration that we need a one world government and a one world economic system should be a huge wake up call for all of us.
We are in the last days.
It is time to get ready.
First things first: I’m an atheist, so I don’t buy the “we’re in the end days” stuff… but after reading this, I had to ask:
How does calling for a “World Government” lead to calling for a “World Religion?”
Seriously. Government has nothing to do with religion, and in this day and age where church and state are kept separate for the explicit purpose of PROTECTING all religions… there shouldn’t be any concern that a world government (which would, in all likelihood, be comprised of representatives from all over the world) would automatically lead to a single world religion.
I’m sorry, that’s alarmist and unnecessary. We’re human beings, capable of controlling our own fate as a civilization. A world government does not have to bring with it world religion if… we say it doesn’t.
The Pope has it all backward. More centralization of economic control leads to further erosian of political and civil/religious freedoms. To think that any leader, let alone a religious one, could encourage (as in tell his sheep, literally meant by the way many of them act in thoughtless obedience to papal commands, to vote for or against various political positions.
What is the pope’s real problem? Simply that:
A. The Religion News Service yesterday reported that the Vatican had said it is now $22,000,000.00 in debt. It rests on a grand total of 208 acres of land.
B. The other problems is that Catholics, like everyone else, have been very negatively affected by the international economic downturn. The Catholic Church, like many others, has had to cut budgets, laying off many employees, thus reducing Church income even further.
C. Third world countries, where the greatest segment of Roman Catholics live, especially in Centreal and South America, are where the greatest impact of the economic downturn is located. The pope’s church is in deep trouble. Benedict is likely afraid that other churches will offer a religious experience that, though it may be less ritualistic, may have a sense of greater spiritual uplift amd consequently more sharing among members.
D. Waht is the papal way when things get rough and the Cuurch seems not to have sufficient answers? You guessed it, the STATE.
And the disguises on this apparent papal plot are a bit like putting lipstick on a pig. You can see it’s size and you can sure smell it.
Here is my social work professional analysis of Benie’s little problem:
1. His Vatican city state is now $22,000,000.00 in debt and no hope of reversal. Vatican income has dropped off as a result of the worldwide economic downturn that the pope says is causing the poor to suffer from. His Church isn’t doing very well, either.
2. Because the recession is worldwide (most recessions ARE worldwide), it appears that Benedict sees the best opportunity his Church has had in a very long time to extend it’s control over the religious affairs of the masses. He wants to say he can make the point that he wants to have a worldwide government-led kind of worldwide almost legislative system set up whereby some “authority” can tell all the others what to do, and when in economics. He says he is for the poor. But his actions say to me that he is using the economic scene to convince world governments that they need a moral shephard, sort of like himself, one would easily guess based on the past history of the pope’s Churc
In other words, the pope whose church makes so much money by selling the various elements of forgiveness of sin, is now broke and needs a bailpout of some kind
The Citizens Have Control?
This is more a response to “A_Pickle”’s comment: “We’re human beings, capable of controlling our own fate as a civilization. A world government does not have to bring with it world religion if… we say it doesn’t.”
My question: Did the Jews have any say as they were being led to slaughter in Nazi Germany??
