Hi Randy, Why do you think it is called the "theory" of evolution. It is because no scientist has the remotest idea of the first cause. If the evidence was as strong as you portray then by now someone would have proved it. It will never be proven because the theory is wrong at least as to the first cause of life in the first place. Any logical mind working backwards to the very first lifeform quickly works out that it could not have "evolved" the capacity to reproduce or contain the genes and DNA necessary to do so.

1. Matter can be "created" in a vacuum.
2. Technically all species are in a transitional form because they are constantly evolving, some transitional forms cannot be found in the fossil records because speciation can occur quickly or slowly (gradualism vs punctuated equilibrium). It is not the same as believing in a creator because there is no evidence to support the theory of a creator, while there is evidence that points to the existence of transitional forms (flippers vs arms, vestigial structures, DNA).
3. Pangea gradually began to break up about 175 mya, and the dinosaurs went extinct (very suddenly) around 65-66 mya. Additionally, continental drift occurs at ridiculously slow speeds, the dinosaurs had plenty of time to adapt and evolve in response to environmental changes.

P.S. No, it was pretty bad. Nice try though.

"... which somehow popped into existence"
Strange, you criticise evolutionists for that, yet creationism relies on the belief that we just popped into existence. It seems to me that you are ignorant and refuse to even look at the evidence for evolution. I do not mind you believing in your imaginary friend and how he clapped his hands so we'd all exist, but the moment you try to explain things this badly and turn people away from scientific fact, I hate you.

There has never been a single time that the bible was historically inaccurate, regarding the parts that are not "religious." And the Bible wasn't written 2000 years ago by the way. Anyway, to explain miracles, my answer is if you catch an apple, it is no longer falling, but you have not broken the laws of physics. You are merely temporarily intervening. If you can intervene with the laws of physics on a low level, then an all powerful deity should be able to intervene with the laws of physics on a higher level. And to address evolution being a fact, I would like to ask you to look back at this theory 1000 years from now, if that were possible. Science changes, and evolution, by the way, is a THEORY. Religion may "change" but if you look to the roots, it is essentially the same. I am not looking to the corrupt church, but my own personal bible and study. this is my answer, i will not treat it as fact, but this is what I have.

Now this is only my own view of the subject, so please do not be offended. I don't have all of the answers, but this is what I have come up with so far.

The "flimsy" argument for creationism is actually quite robust, as long as you look deeply into the topic. For example, it is a fundamental belief of creationism that God has not only existed forever, but is also not a created being. Before you go to tell me that it is illogical to base your entire belief off of the presumption that the creator of the universe is all powerful and eternal, let me ask you, how long had the mass from the big bang existed? Better yet, where did that matter come from? If you ask then how an all powerful being was able to create the universe, then wouldn't that be an answer to your own question? An all-powerful-being. I cannot stress that more.

Now before attack the ethics of Christianity, let me remind you that this argument is on creationism vs. evolution. Creationism is not only from Christianity, so I will merely ask you to please refrain from any rude messages about the religion.

My next argument is if there are indeed transitional organisms, then if their minute changes are too hard to detect or to detect easily, then isn't that the same as believing in a creator who designed each being? It takes faith to believe in both theories. On the account of dinosaurs, I would like to point you Genesis 11: 1-8. In it, it is mentioned that all people were in one area, but were eventually separated by God. Doesn't this sound like Pangaea? Now about dinosaurs, it would be possible that they couldn't adapt to the new climate and died out.

Now to address the stupidity of Deafboy's comment, if he actually knows anything about Christianity in detail, he will know that Jesus was resurrected into heaven...

I will not say I have all of the answers, since I don't, and I will not say that my answers are necessarily correct, since there is probably an inaccuracy at some point. All in all, these are my arguments, and please feel free to comment on this, as long as it is a meaningful counter argument, not another biased response.

P.S. Not a bad argument for a 15 year old, huh?

Indeed prophecies (things to happen yet future) are not in the domain of human, beliefs, experience, dreams (in a tranche) , intellect and even wisdom. Prophecies especially end times only come from God through His Holy Spirit using ordinary man to in-dwell (2 Peter 1:20-21/ John 14:17, 15:26, 16:13). Normally dreams/visions (in a tranche) are related to the normal daily activity or pre occupations of the mind of the person having the vision or a dream. If you are a pastor or worker in the ministry or so grossly concern/involve in politics and social issues of your community, you will have an overhang of the issues in your mind when you start to rest or sleep.

Everybody out there who believes in evolution is stupid and ignorant, to put it simply. The only thing I have to say to all the evolutionists out there is that perhaps you evolved from apes because your stupid enough to believe in evolution, but I did not. I evolved from Adam and Eve; the first two people that GOD put on the Earth. I believe that the only reason evolutionists believe in evolution and not God is because they don't have enough faith in themselves to believe anything other than what is handed to them.

Kevin C, of course nobody has seen George Washington... he's dead! And he's been dead since 1799. There are still records of him. Also, about your little "God created the earth in 6 days", I personally believe it's impossible, because of current observations of stars, planets, and our laws of physics (gravity) prove otherwise, and the formation of Earth took millions of years. I believe in God being almighty and powerful, but he did not literally create Earth in 6 years. More like 60,000,000 years.n

All apes have 24 pairs of chromosomes. Humans have 23 pairs. This could only happen if we shared a common ancestor, and at some point one of the chromosomal pairs fused. Thanks to the wonder of science, we in fact find evidence for this. We find the DNA sequences from two separate chromosomes in great apes (chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans) have been fused at chromosome 2 in humans.
How do we know they have been fused? Aside from having the DNA sequences of two separate chromosomes mentioned previously, a living thing cannot simply "lose" a chromosome, or it would not live and procreate. We also find remnants of a second centromere in chromosome 2, chromosomes normally only have one. Telomeres also only normally appear at the ends of chromosomes, however in chromosome two there are vestigial telomere sequences found in the middle.
Scientific proof. Much better than believing a sky-god created the world, waited a few billion years, then informed illiterate stone age nomads in the desert of his existence. Afterwards this story was written down by anonymous authors with no originals.

It saddens me how flimsy the argument for creationism is, it saddens me vastly more that there are people stupid enough to believe it alive in my life time. Creationists ask for proof, yet all they offer is a few select verses from the bible, while evolution has foils, theory of migration, big bang theory, and the theory of adaptation. I promise you the earth is older then a few thousand years, I've lived enough of those years not to be so blind.

I promise you the earth is older then a few thousand years, I’ve lived enough of those years not to be so blind.

First off, evolution does not require faith because it is based on observations of collected data. One has no need to "believe" evolution because if you have 2 brain cells, you can go out and view the data for yourself. It's not based in bronze-age conjecture from desert dwelling sheep farmers (and don't tell me that God wrote the Bible because the Bible says so. Your circular logic is invalid). The kinds of people that created the device you're reading this on came to the conclusion that evolution is an observation of reality through logic and reason imposed upon the facts of the matter. If you're too dumb or lazy to review those facts, it doesn't mean your ignorance is equally valid.

No one has deliberately forgotten your truths. They came to find that your book was quite mistaken about a great many things, and so disregard it for advice or authority on any matter. For instance: your book says everything was created in 7 days. You can interpret that as a metaphor, but then wouldn't the whole thing be an allegory? And on whose authority does one distinguish fact from metaphor? Therefore it's not an authority on observe reality. Our eyes and ears are the greatest authority of distinguishing the state of the universe, and they can ascertain the origins of the cosmos; let alone ourselves. With the help of the technologies that science has provided. Such as the device you're reading this on. Which is not just an entertainment box for Bible quotes and porn. Tools are only as useful as their operator.

Another thing about your book and your God is that, whatever good feelings they give you, they are NOT omnipotent or divine authority, regardless of your opinion. If that were the case, they would be revealed in a more corporeal way for those that need such a corporeal revelation. Therefore, regardless of your beliefs, it doesn't change the fact that we have observed the evidence of evolution among other theories.

I feel at this point it is important for me to define the word theory as used in science. It is a guess, you are correct in that assumption. Though it is a complex, educated guess with many interoperable parts leading to a final conclusion. One must test every part of a theory so that they know the whole is correct. Even if a piece of a theory is wrong, it doesn't, necessarily, mean the entire theory is. It may just need adjustment in order to comply with observations. Or it could be garbage. That's what the scientific method does: it weeds out garbage, in essence. You ought to refer to Richard Feynman on that topic. The misconception of science is that scientists, like theists, just believe whatever is thrown at them. No, scientists are skeptical of literally everything. Else, they are not scientists at all. We require evidence or the matter is either untrue or inconsequential. Christians will accept anything as long as a guy that purports to know what God was trying to say in his 2000 year old book tells them what to believe it says. Completely disregarding reality. Even some of the realities of what that book says.

There may come a day when science finds the theory of evolution insufficient to describe the processes involved in the emergence of life on earth and may have to adapt it to new understandings of reality. If science is righteous, and it is, superstition will never be the replacement. An extension of the current theory will because that is the reality of space-time within our bubble called earth. Whether you like it or not, evolution is a fact. The understanding of the process is a theory.

you tube abiogenesis, or look up nasa finds dna analogs (cyanide and hydrogen reactions), or look up the cassiopia project.

"proof" against the theory is usually comprised of holes (arguments from ignorance), or mechanisms that have been discarded in favor of others that have stronger backing due to better evidence. i am sorry you found this remotely convincing.

This is why Jesus commanded over and over, "LOVE YOUR BROTHER!!!" The descendants of Ishmael are jealous brothers of the descendants of Isaac. The blessings and covenant were given to Isaac and his descendants. Ishmael and Isaac were actually brothers with different mothers, same father. What a disgrace for Abraham to see his sons treating his brother in such a way. That is why the Muslims LOVE TO DEFILE EVERYTHING that was promised to Isaac (JEWS) and his. SO FUNNY THEY THINK THEY WILL CONTINUE TO GET AWAY WITH IT. THEIR DAY IS COMING. ISLAM IS STRAIGHT FROM THE PIT OF HELL. LOOK WHAT THEY DO TO THEIR OWN CHILDREN. HOW GROSS AND DISGUSTING!! ISLAM IS NOTHING LESS THAN MODERN DAY NAZIISM. THE LORD IS TRYING TO GET THE ATTENTION OF THE JEWS. TO WAKE THEM TO THEIR SLUMBER THAT JESUS WAS AND IS THEIR MESSIAH. THEY STONED AND PERSECUTED THE PROPHETS, AND THEIR OWN MESSIAH. SO SAD BECAUSE THE ARABS COULD BE BE BLESSED TOO, BUT NOT UNTIL THEY GET WITH THE PROGRAM. AND THAT MY FRIENDS, WILL TAKE NOTHING SHORT OF A MIRACLE!!

This is very interesting. I appreciate you writing this up in order to dispel what appears to be a false theory.

It has certainly put me back on the fence of not knowing the mechanism for the origin of life, however you weaken your position by just a small bit of a poor logic. Even if all the proof against Darwinist evolution is true, you can't use that to prove another theory. If another theory is true, it must stand on its own, not be fed by the death of another theory (unless there is absolute certainty that there are only 2 theories, which is not the case).

Then there's this: "the earth was formed out of water and by water" "Isn't that so true?"
No... why would it be? Is that supposed to be self-evident somehow?
You might as well have (alternatively) said "The universe was made out of unicorn sparkles, that's why things are shiny. Isn't that true?".
You're disproving 1 theory only to place something that sounds even more ridiculous in its place. If you can't even accept that then you're not going to gain much ground with the good research you've done.

Good informative article! Social media media is the holy grail to these kids and we need to face reality that most of them are not going to be won. I have daughters 30 and 35, one is living out her faith, the other saved when she was 5 (made a profession), but she fits well into this article. We must continue to live and speak the truth about Christ and win who we can win. My wife and I just watched 15 minutes of the new movie "Flight" with Denzel Washington and it was absolutely rauncy. We walked out not believing what we just witnessed. With this sort of dominating social media it's going to be an uphill fight to win just your love ones. You need no other explanation as to how current president could possibly be re-elected than to know hollywood and the media hates our God and Creator.

Hi Blacksmith. You asked the question "How are you different from any other Religion which has come and gone in the history of the human race? It is a valid and important question because the future of mankind depends on the answer being true. You mention a number of Races, Cultures and Religions, some past and some present who have different belief systems. The significant difference with Christianity is that it's founder is the only one to declare that he is the Son of God (The Father and I are One ) to declare His purpose as giving His life for the remission of sins for all Mankind and to have risen from the dead. Jesus existence is not disputed and details of His mission miracles and teachings have been passed on by word of mouth and in writing for the past two thousand years. His Miracles and His Resurrection were witnessed by many and very accurate details of His Life and Death were predicted in writing by many prophets hundreds of years before his coming. try reading Psalm 22, written by King David 1000 years before Christ and compare ithe precise details to those described in the The New Testament.
In fact His impact was so dramatic that we even measure time as before and after his coming. 2012 AD (Anno Domini , the year of Our Lord)) means it is 2012 years since He came into the world as True God and True Man. We also have Jesus' guarantee that His Church would last forever. It will not fall no matter what is thrown against it.
Something is either true or it isn't. Truth is Truth. If Jesus is Truth then all other religious beilefs by definition, must be wrong. If God has taken the trouble to come into the World with a message of salvation for us can you think of anything more important than for us to listen and follow whatever He asks? Blacksmith, we aren't talking about Santa or the Tooth Fairy here, we are talking about the whole of Eternity, your eternity and mine. Surely it is worth a serious look. You have everything to gain if you seek To know the Truth. Good Luck on your journey. I will be praying for you as you are clearly seeking answers. Get yourself. Copy of The Bible and read a few chapters. you won't regret it.All the best.Michael

Hi Blacksmith, you are missing the most significant point. An organism can only reproduce if it exists in the first place..that means it had to have a starting point. It amuses me that people are prepared to believe that the world or life has always been there or created itself but aren't prepared to believe that God has always been there. By definition God is uncreated and there is no evidence to suggest that the world as we know it has been here forever. In fact whether you are a scientist or a creationist the vast majority agree that the world has been been 6,000 and 16 million years, which means life had to start after the earth was formed. The fact that we can observe new stars and galaxies forming from gasses indicates that no planet has been here for ever. Also, regarding life elsewhere, that is up to God, however it is highly unlikely that life exists elsewhere because of the extraordinary circumstances needed for life to exist in the first place despite the billions of stars and galaxies in the universe. One thing is for certain you and I are going to die one day. If I am right and obey God's Laws, hopefully I will have eternal life in Heaven. If I am wrong I will never know. You however, have a potential problem as if you are right ,like me you will never know, but if you are wrong you are going to have to do some fancy footwork to explain to your Creator why you denied him and actively tried to undermine him. Good Luck! You are fortunate that God is Merciful!

Remember judgement day? The whole thing about rapture happening on last year's May 21st or whenever it was? Yah, that's a great example of how foolish you lot are. How are you different from any other religion that has come and gone in the history of the human race? What makes you better than the Egyptians, the Aztecs, the Phillipines, the Incans, the Mayans, the Muslims, the Jewish, the Buddah, the Greek, the Romans, the Celtics, the Nordics, the Native Americans, the Africans, the Chinese, the Japanese, and the Russians? What makes you so special?

Ok, just saw someone say noone can say how evolution started.

It never started. It is a fact of life, as long as life has been here. Sometimes, when an organism reproduces, there is an error in the genetic structure of the child. This can be small, or large, or completely cosmetic, as many human mutations are. If the gene is carried on, and becomes more successful than other members of the species, it can eventually usurp or diverge from the origional species. This way, a creature can recieve a mutation that helps it, which will allow it to carry this gene onward through the generations, adapting the species better and better to its environment. If the gene hurts the abilities of it's organism, it will be less successful and naturally be cut out of the gene pool over time.

Elementary, my dear Watson.

I bookmarked this as Idiocity en Pure... Your sole piece of evidence is a website that advocates someone to read a book. Please, slap yourself, splash some cold water in your face, and look in the mirror. Look at any REAL scientific website. Go to the Natural History museum, and see for yourself the relics of the world that was. Read the bible. Yes, it's a wonderful story to educate ourselves on moral standards, but it is, in essence, a fairy tale. It gives us a grand story of magic and gods and mystery, and teaches us good morals. It is not, however, the history of the universe. Look into the sky, see the wonders of all of creation. The everexpanding globes and pinwheels of gases and stars and planets and black holes... Life yet unknown to us, and yet surely there. Maybe there is a god, maybe he told us this bible story because we were to foolish to understand the Big Bang, and atoms, and galaxies, so long ago. Maybe he still moves among the stars, sharing his stories with the countless civilizations in the vast expanse of our universe.

Who knows.
Not me, and certainly not you.
