Is The Japan Earthquake In Bible Prophecy?

A question that a lot of people are wondering about right now is whether or not the Japan earthquake is mentioned in the Bible. In particular, many are asking if the earthquake in Japan has anything to do with Bible prophecy. So is the Japan earthquake in the Bible?

Well, no, the massive earthquake that recently hit Japan is not in the Bible.

However, the Scriptures do tell us that earthquakes will be one of the signs of the last days.

That does not mean that God caused the earthquake in Japan. That does not mean that God is going to be causing the major earthquakes that are to come. What it does mean is that an increase in the size and frequency of earthquakes should be a sign to us that the return of Jesus Christ is getting closer.

So where in the Bible does it talk about earthquakes in the last days?

In Matthew 24:7, Jesus declared the following about the last days….

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”

In Mark 13:8 we see a similar warning by the Messiah….

Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.

In Luke 21:11, Jesus mentioned earthquakes as a sign of the last days along with famines, pestilences and “great signs” from heaven….

There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

In the book of Revelation, it tells us that the greatest earthquake of all time will occur just before the end of the Great Tribulation. Revelation 16:18 says the following….

Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.

So what does all of this mean?

It means that we should expect more very powerful earthquakes as we get deeper into the last days.

Considering what just happened in Japan, that is a very sobering thought. Many of us will never forget the footage of the massive tsunami in Japan washing cars and homes and people across the countryside as if they were toys for children….

As bad as the earthquake and tsunami in Japan were, the truth is that a lot of stuff much worse than that is eventually headed our way.

In Matthew 24:21, Jesus tells us that the Great Tribulation will be the worst time in all of human history….

For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

When Jesus said that, He was not messing around. We are rapidly approaching a time that will be the most horrible that the world has ever seen.

Are you ready for that?

Those that don’t know Jesus are not going to have any hope in the days ahead.

But that does not have to be you. The truth is that Jesus came to this earth and died for your sins. He rose from the dead and now the time of His return from heaven is drawing near.

If you will repent of your sins and give your life to Him, He will forgive your sins and will give you eternal life.

Finally a site that seems to describe correctly bible prophecy, I was on here searching because I thought the bible prophecy was that there was an earthquake that levels japan and that is the warning for the great earthquake in california, maybe I am just remembering something that someone had said and not actual bible prophecy.

Well you gotta say the time is drawing close to the day that the end is near.these are just some of the things tht the world will be left to face .it speaks of the almighty coming like a thief in the night so that’s when we least expect it.it talks about how the kids will be disobedient to their parents,man will be lovers of themselves,money and puff up with pride.it’s so much we’ve done to God’s land ,tampering with science the whole nine .the goverment is so much in debt that there’s no coming back

You say, “No. The Japanese Earthquake wasn’t predicted in biblical prophecy.” But, I couldn’t disagree any more strongly!

The prophet Isaiah wrote certain proclamations against: “The Latter Day Nation of Tyre [ The United States of America ]” – in Isaiah Chapter 23 – which were to occur before her Destructive Civil War.

Isaiah 23:10 – The Great River Overflows [ The Mighty Mississippi ].
Isaiah 23:11 – Japan Tyre Stronghold has an earthquake.

For this same time period Isaiah wrote – about: “The Eastern Wind Of Yahweh” striking Israel in the south [Isaiah 27:7-9] and the rest of Tyre [Isaiah 27:10-11].

Finally, he wrote about the trouble in “The Kingdom(s) of Egypt [The entire Middle East]” at Isaiah 23:5.

Here’s the sequence:
Egyptian Unrest – January until. [23 verse 5]
Mississippi flood – March until. [23 verse 10]
Japanese Earthquake – March until [23 verse 11]
Eastward Winds and Maelstroms – March until. [27 verses 7-9]

Jesus was already wrong in predicting the return of God – read Mark 9:1 :”Jesus went on to say, “I tell you the truth, some standing here right now will not die before they see the Kingdom of God arrive in great power!”

If these people would have been even little childs, the return of God would have been within apr. 50-80 years. Here we are 2000 years later ….

I assume we will still debate this in another 2000 years – my prophecy.

This whole discussion about a return is useless ! If he returns – not much we can do about it anyhow. And if not – those who believe have waited for nothing. So ensure your rightous life here&now.

For me the recent earthquake in Japan is very very important for understanding the fulfilment of biblical prophecies. As you know, the The magnitude 9.0 earthquake that struck Japan has caused our earth’s day shortened by 1.8 microseconds (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2011/03/110316-japan-earthquake-shortened-days-earth-axis-spin-nasa-science/?source=link_fb20110316japanshortday).

The two former powerful earthquakes also had shortened the earth’s day, namely the Aceh/Indonesia earthquake (Dec 2004) by 6.8 microseconds and the Chili one (February 2010) by 1.26 microseconds.

About two years ago Jesus Christ had foretold that the earth’s day would be shortened. Jesus said,
“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” (Mat 24:22 KJV).

Indeed, this is a very good question… and, I’ll gladly explain. In: Isaiah [chapters 18, 23, and 27], Ezekiel [chapters 25, 26, and 27], Obadiah, and Amos 1:9-10 – it describes the destruction of ‘ The End Time Nation of Canaan [ or Tyre ] ‘. According to The Scriptures, Canaan is described as the following:

1. A military superpower, with the world’s strongest navy – upon every ocean.
2. A nation in the midst of two great oceans [ The Atlantic and Pacific ], with its head [or Capital ] to the east, and its tail [or Back ] to the west.
3. It national symbol is The Eagle… it possesses the power of flight and builds its nest among the stars.
4. It’s a Confederacy of States, with A Covenant of Brotherhood.
5. It’s divided by a massive river system with exactly seven headwaters.
6. It fornicates with all other nations upon the earth [United Nations, Breton-Woods, Marshall Plan, NATO, SEATO, etc….]
7. It’s a Cultural Melting Pot, with numerous races dwelling there.

The Pollution and CO2 Carbon Dioxide go into the Tree Bark as a shield from most bugs so they do not eat the tree.

Less Forest less Oxygen this is why the moon. That has no Oxygen is very cold on the side with out Sun Light,And hot as ever on the side with Sun Light. Way too cold and too hot to live there.

With no blank of Oxygen to lessen or reduce the Sun’s UV Rays and Solar Wind they are deadly there on our Moon. Every Mt. Climber and Aircraft Pilot knows the higher you go the thinner the Oxygen and colder it gets.

Just spend a night on a Mt. top above 13,000 feet with no Sun Light and you will see or should i say feel the cold stinging any of your exposed skin. If you are new to Mt. Climbing stay below 10,000Ft. The Astronauts and the Cosmonauts and Fighter Pilots that i have been with for years know this very well, and the Radiation Hazards to humans at High Altitudes.

Soon the Sun’s Solar Wind and UV rays will be way to strong for most to go out in the Sun Light for even a short time. The Geomagnetic Storm to come and the Bad Weather Storms well you have not seen nothing yet and the Sea Level is Rising the Oceans.

The last 30 years On Earth we have broke all high temp records and the temp it is still going up. All the Worlds Ice Glacier are melting at an Accelerating Rate. The Glaciers and Polar Ice Caps store more water than all the Fresh Water Lakes on Earth.

The Bad Weather Storms now are Babies compared to what is to come.

They will get even bigger and worse less Oxygen the more UV Rays to the Earth and more Water molecules will evaporate and go up into the Earth’s Atmosphere. Less Oxygen the colder with out sun light and hotter with it.

The Sky full of more water vapor molecules, more snow in the winter and more Flash Floods in the Summer.

If every living person on Earth were to Plant A Tree Today we might have a chance.

The Earth’s Atmosphere Blanket surrounding it protects life on Earth as Our Lord and GOD will all that seek Him.

Then it is written when the tree is full it is harvest time. All the Earth will someday burn away.

How did God return to his people after Jesus left? Please consider carefully.

The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost

Is not the Holy Spirit in the same nature as God? Is the coming of the Holy Spirit into our bodies the mark (seal) of a true believer? Then our bodies becoming God’s temple where God dwells. Where is God’s kingdom? Where he dwells and where He reigns. I would say…

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.

He who has ears let him hear….

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

I agree with the notes posted on 7/15/2011 by the filter. Jesus did indeed tell his disciples that there were some standing there that would see the kingdom come before they died. Please note that jesus was asked about the kingdom and responded “the kingdom of God cometh not with observation(you can’t see it)neither shall you say lo here or lo there for behold, the kingdom of God is within you”. This is really clear don’t you think? The kingdom is a spiritual kingdom and can’t be seen. The point most people miss is that the kingdom did come just as he said (in their lifetime). Read acts 2 and you will find that Peter did not say this is similar to what the prophets predicted but he said ” this IS THAT which was spoken by the prophet Joel that it will come to pass IN THE LAST DAYS that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh…”. The last days according to Peter were right then and any other interpretation would call Peter’s statement untrue.The last days simply meant the end of the first covenant and the start of the new whereby we can all (jews and gentiles alike) enter the kingdom. This is why in Colossians Paul stated that “he HATH(already)translated us into THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON”. If Paul could get into the kingdom then, why are we still looking for his kingdom? Jesus also said ” My kingdom is not of this world”; should we deny that he knew what he was talking about. Another thought … in Matthew 24 Jesus was talking directly to HIS DISCIPLES and them ALONE! He never even hinted that anything he spoke about would happen thousands of years later. Read this for yourself and see if this is not true. He never said the frequency of earthquakes meant a sign of anything… same about famines, pestilence, etc. He simply said these are the beginning of sorrows. All this stuff about these things being signs of the last days is false and manmade, it is not in Matthew 24. If you don’t believe this ,show me THE VERSE that says other wise. Also read Matthew 24 verse 34 which clearly says “THIS GENERATION(the one they were living in)shall not pass till ALL these things be fulfilled. There are 15 other places where Jesus used the phrase “this generation or a wicked and adulterous generation” and no one has any doubt that he meant the one present at that time, yet people try to twist his words to fit their purpose. I will take the words of Christ over any theologian any day. Jesus was describing the destruction of the temple and the end of the Jews as the covenant people not some end of the world scenario.( As a matter of fact the Bible never mentions the end of time; Daniel calls it The time of the end. The end of what? Genesis 8 says God will never again destroy every living thing. All these rapture theories describe everyone except the raptured ones being killed cotrary to God’s word.)I know that many will disregard this because they have always been taught otherwise; please take this test (as a dear friend and minister used to tell me… Don’t take my word for it, read it for yourself and see if everything I have said is true. Peter, James, and John went with Jesus to what Peter referred to as the Holy Mountain. They saw Jesus perform many miracles in many places but Peter referred to this place in particular as the Holy Mountain because they saw something dramatic happen here. They saw Jesus in all His glory and witnessed the Kingdom. John says in John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” He says he say Jesus’ glory and he was on that mountain when Jesus was transfigured. Peter mentions in 2 Peter 1:16-18 “For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the POWER and COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,” we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with Him on the holy mountain.” They saw Jesus in His glory. Something the others haven’t seen yet. Following that verse where He talks about SOME of them seeing it before they taste death, in all three gospels, is this event right here.

Whenever you think the Bible to be wrong, it’s just a misunderstanding. I had to search a little to find this answer myself, but it’s there to find. We must always pray for understanding and as Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”

We must not trust our own limited knowledge but ONLY in God’s infinite knowledge and truth, always! Jesus is never wrong. God is never wrong. The Bible is never wrong, only wrongly interpreted.

Please take a moment next time to search out the truth for yourself knowing that it’s there, regardless of your current understanding of what was read. Seek the truth. Seek Jesus while He may still be found. Before it’s too late.

May God guide your heart to truth and salvation through Jesus Christ, and understanding of His word through the Holy Spirit.

Amen to what Jerry Collins wrote. The last days was when the old covenant ended (the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ) or else the last days began after the Resurrection. The Second Coming is a spiritual thing, not a physical thing that you can see with your fleshly eyes. The Rapture is spiritual, not physical; the rapture is the glorification of your body, it is when the Holy Ghost falls on you. After you go through a time of great purification (tribulation), then Jesus comes to you the Second Time.
