An implantable RFID microchip implant that can detect the swine flu or other bio-threats in your bloodstream? That is the ambitious new goal of VeriChip corporation.

VeriChip currently markets RFID microchips that patients can have implanted under their skin that contain a link to their medical records so that doctors with a special reader can access their medical information even if the patient is unconscious or unable to be identified. So far VeriChip is the only corporation to have such an implant approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

But now VeriChip is seeking to expand their technology in dramatic new directions. The goal for this new chip is to develop an implant that can not only recognize the presence of a bio-threat, but that can also diagnose what virus is infecting the host.

Now, many Christians may overreact to news such as this and declare that the Mark of the Beast is at hand. 

But this is most definitely NOT the Mark of the Beast.

But it is another step in the development of the technology that could eventually be used for the Mark of the Beast.

In any event, as the public acceptance of implantable RFID technology increases, the reality is that it will begin to be used for more and more applications.

Someday you may be faced with the choice of having to take an RFID chip to keep your job.  It may not be the Mark of the Beast yet, but are you willing to take a chip under any circumstances?

The persecution of Christians in the U.K. and the United States is heating up like never before. Street preachers are being told it is against the law to hand out tracts and read the Bible in public, school officials are threatened with prison for praying over a meal and prison officials even cut Bible verses out of the mail sent to prisoners.

Yes, all of those examples are true.

We will deal with them one at a time.

Firstly, let’s examine the story of 29 year old Miguel Hayworth and his father. Hayworth has been a street preacher in the city of Manchester area for five years and he is often accompanied by his father when he does his street preaching.

Recently they were preaching at St. Ann’s Square in Manchester when they were approached by several police officers who accused them of inciting hatred by making homophobic and racial comments.

According to the Telegraph, one plain-clothed police officer made this statement to them:

It is against the law to preach and hand out tracts: preaching causes offence and handing out tracts is harassment and could result in an arrest.

So what Bible passages were they reading.  Well, according to reports, one of the passages they were reading from was Romans 1:27 which says this : “And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly…”

But apparently reading the Bible in public is no longer acceptable in the U.K. 

In fact, it can get you arrested.

Not that the United States is any better.

A principal and an athletic director down in Florida are likely headed to prison for saying a lunch-time prayer.

Yes, this is actually happening in the United States of America.

You see, the ACLU filed a lawsuit against Pace High School in Santa Rosa County, Florida last year accusing them of allowing teachers to endorse religion.  The school quickly agreed to a settlement whereby all school employees were banned from engaging in prayer or religious activities before, during, or after school hours.

Of course the settlement was blatantly unconstitutional, but very few people in the United States seem to care about the Constitution anymore.

Now a principal and an athletic director face the prospect of going to prison for offering meal-time prayers at an appreciation dinner for adults who had helped with a school field house project.

Seriously.

With all of the other massive problems that America is facing, why does the ACLU have to go after meal-time prayers like a rabid dog?

Why?

It is because they hate God.

Now even prisons are censoring Christian material.

One prison in Virginia is actually cutting Bible verses out of the letters that inmates receive from their relatives.

Seriously.

What in the world have we become?

Anna Williams, whose son was held in that prison for several months says that prison officials cut out entire sections of several letters that she sent to her son.

The section that they cut out contained Bible verses or other Christian material.

When she asked the prison about this, they said that they were following prohibitions on religious material sent from home.

What in the world is going on?

The truth is that the U.K. and the United States have rejected God.

We have removed Him from our schools, our courthouses, our government buildings and just about every other public place.  We have pushed Him and His followers deep into the corners and we have made it very clearly that we don’t want anything to do with Him.

So why in the world should God protect us and bless our nations?

The truth is that when nations willingly reject God, then God will reject them.

The judgment of God is coming, and when it does come, nobody should be surprised.

In another sign of just how serious the people of Israel are about rebuilding the Temple of God is Jerusalem some day, one organization has erected an enormous scale model of the Second Temple at a location that is directly opposite the Temple Mount.

The Aish HaTorah Yeshiva, which is located in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem, has placed a huge model of the Second Temple on the yeshiva’s rooftop, where it overlooks the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

The plan is for this very impressive model of the Second Temple to remain there on permanent display. Reportedly, the goal of this project is to reemphasize the connection between Judaism and Jerusalem’s holy sites.

The model is 10 feet by 4 and a half feet in size and it was built on a very precise 1:60 scale.  The creators of this model placed a great deal of importance on being as exact as possible.

For students of Bible prophecy, this is year another indication of just how very serious preparations for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem have become.

On a day when Jews mourn the destruction of the Temple almost 2,000 years ago, the Temple Institute made a giant step towards the rebuilding of the Temple by beginning to rebuild the sacrificial altar.  The sacrificial altar is the location in the Temple where the Jews once offered sacrifices to the Lord, but there have been no sacrifices made since 70 A.D. when the Roman army destroyed both Jerusalem and the Temple.

It is difficult to understate the significance of the rebuilding of the sacrificial altar.  You see, the sacrificial altar was the center of Temple worship.  It was located near the center of the Temple, and upon that altar the priests would offer the numerous sacrifices that are commanded in the Torah.

The Temple Institute has previously rebuilt many of the other required instruments and vessels for the Temple, but rebuilding the sacrificial altar represents another huge leap forward in their goal.

Of course the Temple Institute is not able to rebuild the sacrificial altar in its proper location on the Temple Mount, so they are building it off site and will transport it to the Temple when it is rebuilt in the future.

The rocks for the sacrificial altar were gathered from the area around the Dead Sea and they were individually wrapped in order to ensure that they are not touched by metal as the Torah requires.

For students of Bible prophecy, this development is very exciting because it represents another huge step towards the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem as the Scriptures foretell.

In fact, the Bible tells us that one day the Antichrist will set himself up in God’s Temple and proclaim himself to be God.  Just read what it says in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4…..

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for (that day will not come) until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

But should the Temple Institute be doing this?  Should anyone be trying to rebuild the Temple without direct instructions from the Lord?

We know that it WILL be rebuilt, but is it proper for them to be doing it right now?  After all, the first two Temples were only built after the Lord gave direct instructions that they be built.
