I describe in my book “Living in the Age of the Ram and the Goat” a scenario in which Iran intends to take over the Persian Gulf Area by invading Iraq, Turkey and Saudi Arabia after the United States pull out of the region (about 2012). The anti-aircraft equipment you mention in their article will be necessary when they invade Turkey (Turkey has their own F-16 manufacturing capability).
